Species TM AA Chromosomal Location Gene Symbol Gene Name Reference
Human - 189 11p15.5 HRAS HRas proto-oncogene, GTPase
Mouse - 189 7 86.48 cM Hras Harvey rat sarcoma virus oncogene
Rat - 189 1q41 Hras HRas proto-oncogene, GTPase
Gene and Protein Information Comments
Three isoforms have been identified for human HRAS. Isoforms 1 and 3 are both 189 amino acids long, but isoform 2 (NP_789765) is shorter (170 amino acids) and has a distinct C-terminus. The mouse protein also has three isoforms, 1 and 2 are 189 amino acids long and isoform 2 (NP_001123916) is 188 amino acids. Two transcripts have been identified in the rat, both produce identical proteins of 189 amino acids.
