Overview

The IUPHAR Committee on Receptor Nomenclature and Drug Classification (NC-IUPHAR) regularly publishes review articles and commentaries on varied topics in pharmacology. NC-IUPHAR nomenclature reports are published in the journal Pharmacological Reviews, and, since 2011, NC-IUPHAR also publishes reviews on other subjects in the British Journal of Pharmacology.

Other articles by NC-IUPHAR or database team members are sometimes published in other journals and we maintain a list of relevant articles below. Database articles describing the IUPHAR/BPS Guide to PHARMACOLOGY (GtoPdb) and its previous incarnation, IUPHAR-DB, are listed at the bottom of the page.

N.B. A general PubMed query with the keywords International[Title] AND Union[Title] AND Pharmacology[Title] returns some additional IUPHAR publications in other journals, most of which are attributable to the IUPHAR Clinical Pharmacology Section.

The publication list below is current as of March 2015.

Pharmacological Reviews

IUPHAR has a longstanding, formal collaboration with Pharmacological Reviews. The official nomenclature reports from the IUPHAR Committee on Receptor Nomenclature and Drug Classification (NC-IUPHAR) are published in the journal.

A PubMed list of NC-IUPHAR's publications in Pharmacological Reviews may be retrieved with the following query:

(International[Title] AND Union[Title] AND Pharmacology[Title] AND "Pharmacol Rev"[Journal]) OR 1438521[uid] OR 1332082[uid] OR 7938164[uid] OR 16382097[uid] OR 17132848[uid]

Note that some of the early publications (1992-94) do not include the words 'International Union of Pharmacology' in the article title, and therefore need to be specified by their PubMed IDs in order to retrieve a complete set. A small number of the articles listed below (e.g. forewords and editorials for IUPHAR compendia) are not found in PubMed.
