The LTK family appear to lack endogenous ligands. LTK is subject to tissue-specific splice variation, which appears to generate products in distinct subcellular locations. ALK fusions created by gene translocations and rearrangements are associated with many types of cancer, including large cell lymphomas, inflammatory myofibrilastic tumours and non-small cell lung cancer [6].
